Natural Insect Repellent (Bug Spray)

Dr Jess Garden

Our mum adapted this recipe and made it to huge demand for our clinic (thanks mum!). We have now tested this bug spray all over the world when travelling and hundreds of our patients and family and friends swear by it. All notice they rarely get bitten by anything when using it.

Even better, with its high levels of essential oils if you spray it on an insect bite the antibacterial properties of the oils reduce the risk of infection and they act to calm any itching.

You Will Need:
  • 50ml spray bottle
  • Spring water
  • a small quantity of vodka
  • Good quality (organic if possible) essential oils of:
  • Lavender
  • Vanilla
  • Lemongrass
  • Citronella
  • Peppermint
  • Pine
  1. Nearly fill the spray bottle with a mix of 50% spring water and 50% vodka
  2. Add 10 drops of each of the organic essential oils
